Quick and Easy Fruit and Nut Chocolates

Quick and Easy Fruit and Nut Chocolates

When you started growing inside me I felt a sense of apprehension like nothing I had ever known.

Weeks later I felt a sickness like nothing I had ever known.

When I gave birth to you I felt a pain like nothing I had ever known.

When I first held you I felt a love like nothing I had ever known.

When I took you home I felt sleep deprivation like nothing I had ever known.

During those weeks I felt the craziness of hormones like nothing I had ever known.

As I tried to feed you I felt frustration and hopelessness like nothing I had ever known.

In those first few months I felt clueless like nothing I had ever known.

Then you smiled and I felt my heart burst like nothing I had ever known.

You kissed me and I felt warmth like nothing I had ever known.

You had your first illness and I felt my heart break like nothing I had ever known.

You took your first steps and said your first words and I felt pride like nothing I had ever known.

You touched your baby Brother and held your baby Sister and I felt a sense of everything being perfect like nothing I had ever known.

You packed your bag and headed to school and I felt excitement, emptiness and a sense of worry like nothing I had ever known.

You stand before me now. So grown up. So beautiful. I feel all of these things at once; mothering you is like nothing I had ever known. Thank you for all that you have given to me.

As I sit in my armchair with baby boy asleep in my arms (can’t put him down yet…or maybe I don’t want to), my big baby girl alseep in her room and I’m looking through your website once again for ‘treats’ to make with her and for her…I come across this beautiful message to your special girl. My eyes well with tears and I feel a lump in my throat for your words carry weight, a story of true love and real life. And for a second I almost think we’ve met…for your words touch me so. Thank you Bianca for your honesty, for sharing with all of us time and time again and allowing us to connect, smile and to cry along side you. You are a remarkable woman.

    • Oh thank YOU!! You are far too kind!!!! I appreciate you taking the time to read my words and I am glad they resonate with you. I would love to hear how you go with any recipes that you try. Thanks again for your feedback and support. Bianca. x

I just made this today and after having made paleo chocolate twice before with different recipes, I had very low expectations as I didn’t enjoy the other two recipes at all. As they say, third times a charm because this recipe was absolutely delicious and I no longer have any need to buy tiny and extremely expensive chocolates from the health food store. I’m thrilled!

    • Fabulous!!!! Thank YOU so much!!! I am glad you enjoyed it and I really appreciate you taking the time to write! Be sure to let me know how you go with anything else that you try. x

This recipe is so damn good. I was honestly surprised at how much we liked it. A firm favourite in our family. I’ve also made it using hazelnut butter and different nuts. Still awesome.

Is there a substitute for coconut oil? My daughter is allergic to coconut and dates so trying to find chocolate recipes that don’t contain these two ingredients is proving to be difficult.
