Jaffa Slice

If I were keeping a pregnancy diary, which I’m not, it would read something like this.

Ten weeks pregnant. Sick. Sleepless. Crazy.

I have never been so relentlessly sick.

Except for my last pregnancy.

And the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that….

Ok. But this feels so much worse. I’m sure I can’t survive it.

I can only eat three foods. I don’t enjoy any of them.

I am lazy. I can’t move from the couch. I am exhausted and feel nauseous at the thought of leaving the house.

My inability to do anything at all is driving my husband crazy and driving me crazy.

The kids are being wonderful. Thank goodness it’s school holidays. I am dreading having to be somewhere by 8:45am….that moment is only days away. It is giving me nightmares.

I am crying for my Mum daily. I am crying at books I read, at my children’s kindness, at anything and everything.

I just want to sleep and wake when this phase has passed, but I can’t sleep.

The days are long.

I stare at walls. Sometimes I read.

My precious little 6 year old is running the show. She is the mum, the big sister, the best friend. She brings me water. My boy gives me kisses. It makes me smile.

I know it will all be worth it.

Just hang in there.

It will all be so very worth it.
