To my very own Super Hero,
Could the days get any better than the days we share? I suspect not.
I dreamt about and begged for you many years before you started growing inside me because even then I knew just how grand life with you would be. Still, the reality has exceeded all that I had created in my mind.
I could just watch you and spend every minute of my day doing nothing more than watching you. Everything you do, everything you say fascinates me. You are an amazing little being.
You are filled to the brim with affection and love and cheekiness. You have contentment and peace and a need for nothing more than what you have.
Your family makes you happy. The outdoors makes you happy. You ask for nothing greater than this.
It is no secret that your favourite thing in the whole wide world is your beautiful Sister, your face lights up whenever you hear her name. The smile you save for her is larger and livelier than the one you share with everybody else. She has your heart and you have hers.
You and I spend our days chatting as we go through the motions. You ask questions and commentate on your every move. You say Mummy many, many times. We fill our days much the same as every Mother and Son that went before us. We play with letters, we chat about colours and super heroes and what we will have for lunch. We read stories and hide under blankets. We cook and we clean. We all do of this by each other’s side.
I love you my little man. I love you so much that it brings tears to my eyes. I love you so much that I can’t bear to think about the day when you are no longer standing by my side as I clean the bathroom or buy the groceries.
I love having your little hand in mine. I love seeing your unconditional acceptance. I love your kisses and your cuddles and all the gorgeous things you say. I love that you love me too. That you say Mummy with your whole heart. That you kiss and embrace me because you mean it. I love that you don’t mind if I am having a sad day, you don’t mind if I am grumpy, you still want me around.
I love that even when I feel lousy you still make me laugh and make me feel warm inside.
I love that you are here with me. My very own Super Hero, saving my days and giving me strength. You are an amazing little man, how blessed we are to have you rocking our world.

Real Deal Chocolate Brownie
- 200 grams dark chocolate
- 1 cup coconut cream
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 eggs, whisked
- 3/4 cup almond meal
- Preheat your oven to 175°C
- Grease and line a loaf tin with baking paper. My tin measures 19.5cm x 9.5cm.
- Melt the chocolate, coconut cream and honey over low heat. Once melted and well combined allow to cool slightly.
- Stir the chocolate mixture into the whisked eggs. Combine. Add the almond meal. Combine.
- Pour the mixture into your loaf tin. Bake for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin. Once cooled to room temperature place in the fridge to cool completely. Serve. Eat. Enjoy.
