Do you read?

I’m a reader. I’ve always been a reader. When I’m pregnant and exhausted and not feeling my best I tend to read more than at any other time.

My Dad’s a reader.

My Grandma’s a reader.

My Daughter’s a reader.

My Mum is an audio book fan which suits her and her lifestyle perfectly.

My Husband fantasises about being a reader, but to be honest he struggles to find time to breathe…

I like that to one extent or another, we all have this in common.

When I was stuck on the couch with a crazy level of morning (all day and night) sickness I decided it was time to buy a kindle.

They had never interested me before, but at that point in time there was nothing I wanted more.

Now I love it.

My daughter also fell in love with it (which meant I was seldom getting a turn) so as per her request she received one for her birthday – best gift we have ever given her. Almost six months later it is still her absolute favourite thing and we actually have to take it away from her at times and say “time to play Lulu.”

All was going well with my reading since purchasing the kindle. I’m an avid fan of the sample option and my first few books were thoroughly enjoyed. But then I purchased a three pack. I didn’t sample. I just heard about it and heard about it and heard about it. So, on a whim I grabbed it. This isn’t my usual style.

Well….

It wasn’t great…..

It was….fine…. (Oh no…..fine? Who wants fine?)

Many would say it was good.

Many would say it was fabulous.

I, however, was a little glad when I finished the final page of the trilogy.

Now I’m in the between books zone. Do you go there? The story I’ve just read is still fresh in my mind. I’m not sure if I’m ready to meet new characters. I think I need a day or two…

I’m in desperate need of a page turner.

I’m looking at a thriller but I’m not sure if that’s a great idea in my current condition.

I’m not sure if my pregnant, highly sensitive, nightmare prone self can handle it…

If you have any suggestions or have read anything recently that you have loved, be sure to let me know.
