Nutty Baked Pears with Chocolate Sauce

Simple. Sweet. Satisfying.

Nutty Baked Pears with Chocolate Sauce

2 pears

4 tablespoons of macadamia butter or roasted almond butter or a nut/seed butter of your choice

Preheat oven to moderate. Cut pears in half, remove seeds with a teaspoon. Put two pear halves together and wrap in foil, repeat. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until pears are tender. Remove pears from the foil, place them cut side up on individual serving dishes, fill the hole left from removing the seeds with one tablespoon of nut butter per pear.

The Chocolate Sauce will only take a moment to prepare and is best left until nearing the end of the pear’s cooking time so that it is a runny consistency and perfect for drizzling.

Chocolate Sauce

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon cacao, cocoa, carob

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Put all ingredients into a small saucepan and melt over low heat, stir continuously, once smooth remove from heat and drizzle over your pears. Enjoy hot or cold.

  • Bianca, I can’t wait to try this, it looks delicious (like all your recipes!) What I love most about your recipes is how easy they are and this looks like no exception.

Hi Bianca, does the nut butter go in cold/room temp or does it get warmed?

    • I just put it in when I remove the pears so it is room temp but I think it would be lovely if you returned them to the oven briefly. I hope this helps.
